Public Places

Wireless@SG is the largest free Wi-Fi network in public places across Singapore. There are thousands of hotspots available throughout the island, including restaurants, shopping centres, cafes, libraries, museums and other public venues. Click here to view the latest hotspot coverage list. 

To use the free Wi-Fi service, simply connect to any Wireless@SG hotspot and register an account using your foreign phone number and follow the instructions that you will receive via SMS. Go to this link to see more details on the registration. 

Some shopping centres, cafe or restaurants may offer free Wi-Fi service to the customers. Feel free to enquire at the information counter in the shopping centres or staffs in the cafe or restaurants. 

Prepaid SIM Card

SingTel, StarHub and M1 are the three main local telco service providers in Singapore that offers wide range of prepaid SIM card packages for selection. There are offers designed for tourists with validity period from 5 days or more, bundles with mobile data plan, SMS and local / international calls. Prepaid SIM cards can be purchased at the respective telco retail counters or convenience stores such as Cheers or 7-Eleven, or even in Changi Airport at Changi Recommends. Upon purchasing a prepaid SIM card, you are required to present your original passport for registration.  

Portable Wi-Fi

If you are traveling with a group of friends or you own multiple devices that require internet connectivity, a portable Wi-Fi could be the best option for you. A portable Wi-Fi also known as pocket Wi-Fi or mobile Wi-Fi router that provides data access that supports multiple devices at the same time. The number of supported devices varies based on the portable Wi-Fi’s specifications. 

There are many companies in Singapore that offers portable Wi-Fi rental, which upon rental registration, you can request to collect or return the portable Wi-Fi from and to your hotel. Alternatively, you can reserve a portable Wi-Fi online via Changi Recommends and collect the device on your arrival at the Changi Recommends counters in Changi Airport. To return the portable Wi-Fi, just drop-off the device at the Changi Recommends counters before your flight.
