Singapore Changi Airport, the world’s best airport for the 5th consecutive year has raised the bar even higher with its latest addition Terminal 4 (T4) which is scheduled to open this year. T4 with its creative and innovative interior designs, amazing artworks and high technologies with the aim to offer the world-class airport experience, is definitely to impress visitors from around the world.

Before T4 is fully opened to the public, T4 Open House was held between 07 – 20 August 2017 and we were glad to have had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the new boutique terminal.

“WOW!!” was our first impression when we arrived at T4! Apart from the similar premium airport atmosphere, T4 interior designs are inspired by orchid petals that can be seen throughout the entire terminal – from ceiling light fixtures to carpets, chairs and even dustbin! (In case you don’t know, the national flower of  Singapore is an orchid hybrid known as Vanda Miss Joaquim).

Some petal-shaped objects that we spotted during our tour:

T4 may not be spacious as other terminals but what makes T4 different from the others is its high-tech features that provides fast and seamless travel (FAST) experience. T4 introduced full self-service processes from check-in to bag-drop, departure immigration and automated boarding.

The airlines that will be operating in T4 are Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Vietnam Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Spring Airlines and the AirAsia Group, including AirAsia, Indo AirAsia, Philippines AirAsia and Thai AirAsia.

If you are travelling to / from T4, be sure to arrive early to spend some time exploring the terminal. Here are some of the cool features and artworks that you should not miss.
