A Day Adventure in Singapore River Safari

Singapore River Safari is Asia’s first and only river-themed wildlife park located next to Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, spanning 12 hectares featuring over 6,000 freshwater animals across 200 species. It is a very well-organised park where you’ll get to learn about the greatest rivers of the world with the creatures typically found in those rivers, peering into the freshwater aquariums and exciting walk-through exhibits.

Mississippi River

Mississippi River, the world’s fourth longest river features a range of North American wildlife. Visitors will be greeted by the alligator gar, which must-see among other fishes. Alligator gar can weigh up to 300kg and grow to length 3m long. Other highlights of this zone are alligator snapping turtles, corn snakes and tiger salamanders

Ganges River

Ganges River is believe to be the holiest river by the Hindus, hosts a wide range of South Asian species. In this zone you will discover the Indian gharial, goonch catfish, frog-faced soft-shell turtle and giant devil catfish

Mekong River

At Mekong River section, you will meet the Mekong Giant Catfish, which is critically endangered animal in the wild where their population decreased by 80% since 1990. Unlike other catfish, Mekong Giant Catfish loses their whisker-like barbels when they reach adulthood. Its life span can grow up to 15 years in the wild (up to 35 years under human care).

Giant Panda Forest @ Yangtze River

One of the highlights that you should not miss is the Giant Panda Forest located at the Yangtze River zone. Giant Panda Forest is a designed 1,500 square meters, with climate-controlled between 18°C-22°C to mimic the natural habitats in the rugged highlands of China that hosts Singapore’s very own giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, and a red panda. Indulge yourself at the Mama Panda Kitchen with panda themed foods and beverages.

River Safari Cruise

Look out for scenic photo opportunities as you gently walk along the bridge over seeing upper Seletar reservoir. You can hop abroad the Reservoir Cruise to enjoy a quick respite after a day exploration and discovery. (ticket is sold separately) 

Amazon River Quest

Embark on a boat adventure into the exciting and mysterious Amazon River.  Be fascinated by the sights and sounds of animals hailing from one of the most diverse rainforest habitats in the world. Spot these animals during your ride – Brazilian Tapir, FlamingoJaguar and Giant Anteater

Tips:
– Riders must be 1.06m and taller to enjoy the ride.
– The ride will be suspended on rainy weather.

Amazon Wet Land

Meet some of the most endangered riverine creatures found in the Amazon Wet Land – Giant River Otter, Electric Eel, Araipaima, Pacman Catfish, Red-bellied Piranha, Motoro Stingray, Black-finned pacu and Red-tailed Catfish.

Amazon Manatee

Amazon Manatee is another highlight in the River Safari. Manatee’s lifespan is between 60 to 70 years, they spend 6 to 8 hours a day feeding on submerged and floating aquatic vegetation. A super huge aquarium is designed to house these amazing Manatees, so that your time to enjoy these amazing creatures and wind down your exploration.
